Colchester Foodbank works in partnership with Brightlingsea & Wivenhoe Foodbanks and the Trussell Trust together we are preparing because 12 months after Universal Credit full roll out the average Foodbank has had a 52% increase in demand for it's services.
To provide emergency food parcels to local individuals and families in crisis.
We seek to raise funds to own our own Food HQ.
Solicit, collect and distribute food to feed each month.
We manage the logistics to collect donate food and to supply it to those in crisis.
We spread awareness of the work Colchester Foodbank charity and our 150 front-line partner agencies does.
We raise the money to pay for the charity and to buy a Food HQ from which to work.
The kind people of Colchester donate food which enables up to give well over 200 emergency food parcels every month feeding about 500 people every month.
The Foodbank exists to prevent or relieve poverty in Colchester and the surrounding area, in particular, but not exclusively, by providing emergency food supplies to individuals with assessed short-term need and/or to charities or other organisations working towards the same aims.
